It is very easy to make Indian railway reservation if you follow a few simple steps.  If you want to travel by Indian railway, it would be convenient and comfortable if you travel under reservation category.  In fact prior reservation is mandatory in all classes in the Indian railway, except the second class.  As the first step towards your reservation, you need to access the passenger reservation inquiry website of the India Railways.  Look for the “Accommodation on Train until Departure” under “Services You can Use”.  Click on it.  Then you have to navigate a bit to get the timetable under “Indian Railways Trains at a Glance”.  Then you type your departure and destination stations, your traveling date and class of accommodation you want to travel in.  It would be better to indicate all option since some classes may be booked faster than others.

Another easy way to make Indian railway reservation is to book over the counter.  You can print out the reservation form, fill up the necessary information and present it at the reservation desk of any railway station.  If you are an international tourist, you can approach at the desk for international tourists.  You can make your payment in Euros, US Dollars, UK Pounds or Indian Rupees.  While booking online, register at the IRCTC Online Passenger Reservation Site.  Then log in and enter details as to departure and destination stations, class of travel, date of travel and select e-ticket.  Then click on “Find Trains”.  Select your ticket and click on “Book Ticket”.  Fill up the online reservation form including your Photo ID details and then click “Go”.  Then you will be shown the details of your reservation.
