Yeah, I was taken by this. Now I want a refund for my $ 87.50 is there anyone who had any luck getting this?

I’m embarrassed to admit I’ve fallen for this. I thought I was a bit more cautious, but apparently not. I knew it sounded fishy when I was listening to the nearly 10-minute long instructions.

My girlfriend was the one who discovered the voicemail and she went absolutely nuts, screaming, yelling, jumping up and down. I’ven ever seen her so excited. After listening to the “tax” and “administration” fees I was somehow convinced it was a good deal. (but why should it be a “good deal” it’s supposed to be FREE!) — Why didn’t i think about that before i gave them my credit card? UGH! I hate learning the hard way.

So, has anyone been successful in getting a refund from this crock of SH*T!? I will call them when their office is open and see what they say, then I will try a charge-back with my credit card company, but wanted to know if anyone else has dealt with this company? THANKS!

In early January my family went to Queensland, Australia for a holiday and we rented a car from Avis. When we came back from our holiday, The car company “Avis” sent us a letter saying “Congratulations blablabla ……. We’d like it award u with a FREE weekend day rental certificate. ….. blabla …. FREE of daily time and kilometre charges!”
Then it gave me a coupon number and a date that i had to use it between. So now I’m on it website and I’ve already put in the coupon number in but the price doesn’t seem to change, I’ve compared the prices with the same car but without the coupon number on it but the prices don’t seem to change.

For most car rental companies, the value of a coupon that you plug in, will only be taken off at the END of the rental, provided you met all the terms and conditions of the certificate. It wont show the value of the coupon in your price quote online.

To calculate the value of the coupon, just take your base daily rate before taxes… that’s will be be subtracted from your total at the end of the rental when you return the car. (If you’re only given a base period rate before taxes, just divide it by the number of days of the rental to get the coupon value. ) The value of the coupon will be taken off at the end, after all the taxes are surcharges are added. Example

3 day weekend rental is .97 + for taxes/surcharges = 4.97

divide .97 by 3 to get your base daily rate of .99

4.97 – .99 = .98 — this would be your total due when you returned the car.

Make sure to check all the terms and conditions of the coupon and you must usually turn in the coupon at the beginning of the rental when you pick up the car.
