Cheap Cruise Deals – 4 Ways to Find the Best Deals on Cruises

Article by Steve Schulman

Ever say to yourself, “I want to take this job and shove it. I want a vacation. I want to be pampered. I’m going to see if I can find some deals on cruises.”?

Everyone needs and deserves to get away, at least once in awhile.

If you know what to look for and where to look you can find some fantastic cruise offers that won’t break the bank. Now, I’m not talking about getting on some beat-up old cargo vessel. I’m talking about the type of cruise you’ve seen in the movies. Only with what you’ll find with these tips you won’t have to be a Hollywood star in order to afford to go.

You can find cheap cruise deals any time of the year and to many different ports. There are cheap weekend cruises, cheap Alaskan cruises, cheap Caribbean cruises, cheap Mexico cruises, cheap Disney cruises, and much, much more. And, if you are determined and have just a little bit of patience, finding a cheap cruise deal is not all that hard to do.

How to find the best cruise offers and save the most money:

The absolute best way to get a cheap cruise deal is by having some flexibility.

(1) Be willing to leave on a weekday, or even from a different port.

(2) Be able to travel at the spur of the moment and you will save even more.

Some of the most fantastic cheap cruise deals that you will ever come across are last minute cruise deals. You can save hundreds of dollars if you can take your cruise within a couple of weeks of deciding to go.

If you’re planning a special occasion, maybe your honeymoon, and you need to go on a specific day, this probably won’t work for you. But if you can be a bit more flexible it can make a world of difference.

Now, you can call a travel agent and see if they can find you some cheap cruises. Or you might want to do your own research for cruise deals online to find some fantastic cruise offers.

Here are a couple of vacation websites for you to check out cruise deals online:

(1) Vacationstogo.com. This company claims to have packages that are up to 75% off. They can be a great source of cheap cruise line deals.

(2) Cruisecheap.com. This company has made arrangements for savings with all the major cruise lines. You can have them take care of all your vacation plans and find you the best cruise offers. They can do everything for you so you won’t have any unpleasant surprises.

Check to see if your cheap cruise deal for real.

A word of caution. Even though you can find some great cruise offers, don’t book a cheap cruise deal only because it sounds like you’re going to save a lot of money.

Check out every detail to make sure it is what you want and that you’ll get what you are willing to pay for.

Visit travel forums. Snoop around. Ask questions. Sometimes things really are too good to be true. There could be hidden fees and costs that come up once you’re aboard. You want a cheap cruise deal but you don’t need any unpleasant surprises.

That being said, with some research, a bit of caution, and the necessary flexibility, you will be able to find some great cruise line deals, get away from it all, and take the vacation of a lifetime.

Finding The Best Travel Bargains In Today’s World

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tags: bargains, best, finding, todays, travel, world — libertees @ 1:05 am November 28, 2011

With the financial crisis not yet over, it is no surprise that most people are afraid to spend on a number of things. Those who risk it, however, are also as cautious and would oftentimes look for bargain deals first before making any commitment.

The same scenario holds true even for people who need to travel every now and then, much more for people who need to make unplanned travels most of the time. But how exactly can you find the best last-minute deals?

One of the first things that you can do in order to avail of last-minute deals is to search online. You can either go to your favorite airline’s site to check whether they offer last-minute deals or look for travel agents that specialize in last-minute bargains. Other individuals go to the extent of booking flights just a few days before the date they intend to leave. Keep in mind that most airlines would rather sell seats at a lower rate rather than not get nay income at all.

You can also make use of vouchers for travel. Now this one can be quite tricky as there are very few people who sell travel vouchers. One of the ways you can get these vouchers is if you get bumped off from your original flight. Oftentimes, along with the airline vouchers, you also get to enjoy meal vouchers and hotel accommodations especially if you would need to stay overnight. You can also get travel vouchers in cases wherein you complain about unsatisfactory airline service.

Last minute travel bargains also mean flexibility. You should be willing to fly during early hours or late at night. Flying also during weekdays instead of weekends can be much less expensive; plus points for you if you are willing to do courier travel as this could slash about 50% of the total airline ticket price.

Another way to secure last minute travel bargains is to compare what your airline has to offer with what renowned travel agents can give you. Since travel agents negotiate with these airlines by the bulk, there is a bigger possibility that they could offer seats at a lower price than what your airline is offering.

Which is the Best Cruise Line

Which is the Best Cruise Line

Article by Ryan Sutton

The answer to the question of which is the best cruise line is as varied as the people asking it. When considering a cruise it doesn’t matter who is the best overall, it matters who can best fill your needs. In order to find the cruise line that best matches your needs; you first need to discover what those needs are. Begin by asking yourself the following:

1. Where am I interested in taking a cruise to? 2. How long of a cruise do I wish to take?3. What port do I want to sail out of? 4. What is my cruise budget?

Once you have the answer to those questions you can begin by researching the different cruise lines that match your criteria. The reason this is so important is because cruise lines don’t have ships in every port and for every type of cruise you wish to take for the length and time you wish to take it. Let’s say for example, that you live in Jacksonville Florida and are looking for a cheap, quick getaway to the Bahamas. Because your budget is tight you really want something that will sail out of Jacksonville so you don’t have to pay the added expense of traveling to another port. You will soon discover that based on these criteria, only Carnival sails out of Jacksonville. Therefore it no longer matters who holds the title of overall best cruise line, as Carnival will be your only option.

There is also the matter of personal opinion. I may think Disney is the superior line while many others may feel another well known cruise line is superior. I’ve chosen a line in the past based on others raving about it only to have my cruising experience with that company be less than impressive.

So how do you choose which is the best cruise line for you? Begin by answering the four questions above. Once you have your choices narrowed down to the specific lines that meet your criteria, you can then visit the individual cruise lines website and compare ships.

Check out the age of the ship, how many passengers it carries, and most importantly what it offers in terms of on board entertainment and dining. You should also look at the itinerary and see how long each ship is in each port, because although each ship may visit the ports you desire, their time in those ports may differ and you may have a personal preference of wanting to spend more time in port A than in port B.

One final thing to consider when choosing the best cruise line for your needs is your travel party. If you and your spouse want a peaceful, romantic getaway, choosing a line that caters to kids and spring breakers may not be your best option. On the flip side, if you’re traveling with your family and want plenty of activities for the kiddies, a cruise line that caters more so to adults will not be your best option.

Always remember that your cruise and vacation are what you make it. As long as you make sure your needs are met, you will have an amazing time regardless of overall opinion of a specific cruise line!

Saving The Best For Your Self

When it comes to relaxing yourself and de-stressing, nothing comes close to what a spa treatment can bring. Oftentimes, however, having just an hour or two treatments would not suffice. When this is how you feel about your spa treatments, that it’s time for you to go on a spa vacation.

Although most people equate spa with luxury, you can actually take spa vacations without having to burn a hole in your pocket. Here are some tips on how you can find and truly enjoy an affordable spa vacation:

1.    The first thing that you need to understand is the difference between a destination spa and a resort spa. The former refers to an all-inclusive experience while the latter allows you to just choose which treatments you would like to go for. With destination spas, the whole environment is geared towards your well-being. Activities are planned ahead so you have little choice on which ones to take and which ones to forego.

2.    Online is still the best way to find the hottest spa deals. However, make sure that you know what are included in the packages that they offer. Check if it already includes meals, treatments and room.

3.    Make sure you travel off-season. When we say off-season, this is during winters in the Northeast and summers in the Southwest. Scheduling also your spa vacation during midweek is sure to get you some hot spa vacation deals.

4.    Check with your favorite spa if they have a frequent user program. If there is, you may want to have them look at your eligibility. If you have not yet earned enough points, at least you know how far you are from getting those luxury spa deals.

5.    Go through special packages being offered by the various spa centers online. Keep in mind, however, that there are some who offer packages worth more than what the inclusive would have cost if taken separately. In order to avoid falling for this, make sure that you check how much each service or treatment would cost if taken separately and not as part of spa vacation deals.

How to Spot the Best Caribbean Cruise Deals

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tags: best, caribbean, cruise, deals, spot — libertees @ 1:02 am November 23, 2011

As temperatures in North America start to cool, Caribbean cruise deals start to heat up.  If you want to get away from the dreary landscape of your hometown this winter, consider booking a Caribbean cruise. There are a vast number of excellent deals to be had for Caribbean cruises and prices are incredibly low.  Think as low as $249 per person for a 4 night cruise package that includes airfare.  In fact, you can find many Caribbean cruises with discounts of up to 75% on regular prices.

One of the reasons why Caribbean cruises are so much cheaper lately has to do with the state of our economy. Many cruise lines have had to slash prices in order to encourage people to get on board.  When you consider the fact that the prices of food and drinks are typically included in the packages, it is hard to pass up these Caribbean cruise deals.

The best time to search for deals on cruises in the Caribbean is during the low season, which runs from July to mid-December.  During low season, cruise lines often offer packages that include air, accommodations, sports, and spa treatments so you can get more value for your money.  Rates drop substantially during the low season.

Many people claim that traveling to the Caribbean during low season is risky because you are more likely to come across dangerous weather conditions.  However, the chance of you getting caught in a hurricane during your vacation is relatively low.  Most islands only get hit by hurricanes once every 8.5 years or so.  Islands outside of the hurricane belt, such as Trinidad, Bonaire, and Curacao, get hit only once every 60 years or so.

During the fall, the weather in the Caribbean can be wetter but that usually means just a few afternoon downpours.  The average temperature is just a few degrees above what it is in high season.  Summer in the Caribbean is a good time to enjoy water sports because the water is warmer and clearer.

The Best Caribbean Cruise Deals

Why Cruises are the Best Vacations for Families

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tags: best, cruises, families, vacations, why — libertees @ 1:05 am

Yes, you heard me right. In my opinion, one of the best family vacations with kids is a luxury cruise. 1. One of the best things is that some cruise lines let young kids go free or for reduced rates. Between January 22 and May 28, kids sail free on most of Disney Cruise Line’s 3-night cruises when accompanied by two full-fare paying adults. Such lines as Norwegian and Carnival also offer shorter cruises with kids going free or with deep discounts. 2. Typically, for many cruise lines, 10-day cruises or longer attract an older crowd, 2-3-day cruises attract party-hearty adults, and 6-7-day cruises include more kids and kid friendly programs. So choose accordingly (unless, of course, you cruise on Disney). 3. Most cruise lines have children’s/teen programs to offer. The lines include Disney, Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Princess, Holland America, Celebrity and Cunard. Check with other cruise lines regarding their offerings. Most ships, thus, offer a parent/child orientation with the youth supervisors on the first day of the cruise. Take advantage of the crucial information they offer. Program quality may differ to some extent, and it may be important to ask exactly what each program actually offers and whether it keeps kids busy all day as well as evenings. (Also, if you have kids in diapers or newly potty trained, make sure in advance the ship offers a program for them). 4. What about lodging arrangements? Some cruises have cabins that are large enough to sleep five; others have adjoining cabins. But, if not, be aware that cell phones do not work on the ships. If your cruise line does not offer larger or adjoining cabins, it is probably crucial that you buy walkie-talkies your family can use. The walkie-talkies can also be extremely handy whether in the cabin, separated on ship, or engaging in shore excursions. 5. Ocean liners are even larger than you probably imagine, so walk the entire ship with your kids when you board so they can become even a little more comfortable. Take your younger kids to the children’s program each day and pick them up when it’s over. There’s a really good chance they’ll get hopelessly lost if they try to navigate the ship alone. Also, it’s a good idea, if your older kids are wandering the ship, that they write on a pad in the room where they are at any given time. 6. Show a little consideration. Don’t allow your children to shriek, run, slam doors, jump on the beds, pound on the walls, etc. Other guests deserve to enjoy their cruise too. 7. Some on-shore excursions may bore the kids to tears (or pouts). Children usually love fish and animals. A visit to an aquarium, underwater sightseeing exhibit, wildlife park, or even a submarine ride will be fun. And you might want to insist that everyone gets together for dinner. Besides possible excursions, it may be about the only time the family is all together. In view of programs offered for all ages, a cruise may be one of the best family vacations you will ever enjoy.
